Chitwan National Park .in Nepal

For a small country, Nepal is incredibly diverse. It has the greatest range of altitudes of any nation on earth, ranging from the earth's highest mountains to subtropical river plains. And as the trading ground and meeting place among several cultures, dozens of different languages are spoken by even more ethnic groups. In general, Nepali parks are not"untouched" environments, but have a long history of use by humans. Many national parks incorporate grazing, farming, wood gathering, survival hunting, and human habitation into their boundaries, as well as tourism and trekking. These uses are not without their tensions and their environmental stresses. But there's also something wonderful about this close association of humans and the natural environment; a trip to a Nepali national park always involves interacting with other cultures as well as with the raw stuff of nature.

Royal Chitwan National Park

Elephant Safari Nepal's first and most famous national park is situated in the Chitwan Doon or the lowlands of the Inner Terai. Covering an area of 932 sq km. the park includes hilly areas of the Siwalik Range covered by deciduous sal forest. One fifth of the park is made up of the floodplains of the Narayani, Rapti, and the Reu Rivers and is covered by dense tall elephant grass interspersed with riverine forests of silk cotton (kapok), acacia and sisam trees.

This ecologically diverse area is the lastremaining home in Nepal for more than 300 of the endangered Asian one-horned rhinoceros and harbours one of the largest populations of the elusive and rare Royal Bengal tiger. Besides rhino and tiger, Chitwan also supports a great variety of flora and fauna. There are four species of deer, including the spotted chittal, leopard, sloth bear, wild boar, rhesus monkey, grey langur monkey, wild dog, small wild cats, the white stockinged gaur (the world's largest wild cattle) and many other smaller animals. The swampy areas and numerous oxbow lakes of Chitwan provide a home for marsh crocodiles. In a stretch of the Narayani river is found one of the few remaining populations of the rare and endangered fish-only eating gharial, or Gangetic crocodile. Here also is found one of the world's four species of freshwater dolphins.

For the ornithologist and the amateur bird-watcher the park offers excellent possibilities with more than 450 species recorded. Some of the resident specialities are several species of woodpeckers, hornbills, Bengal florican, and red-headed trogons. Winter birds such as waterfowl, Brahminy duck, pintails and bareheaded geese, amongst many other cold weather visitors are drawn by the sanctuary of the park's rivers. In the summer the forest is alive with nesting migrants such as the fabulous paradise flycatcher, the Indian pitta and parakeets.

Access
Chitwan is easily accessible from Kathmandu, being well connected by a national highway to Bharatpur and to Sauraha. There are daily fights from October through May to Meghauli airstrip just outside the park boundary. Another exciting alternative is a two to three day raft trip down the Trishuli river to Narayanghat or directly into the western edge of the park.

Visitors can stay in one of the several lodges and camps inside or outside the park. Visitors can actively participate in exciting stalks through the forest looking for animals signs. One unique Chitwan experience is elephant back safaris in search of the one-horned rhinoceros, leopard, deer, bear, monkey and crocodile. Few visitors can ever forget the excitement of crashing through 20 feet high elephant grass and sightseeing wildlife. Apart from elephant safaris, the traveller will be happily occupied for several days with nature walks, canoe rides down the park rivers, and land-over drives through the forest.

SONY The DSR-PD170 is a high quality video camera

The DSR-PD170 is a high quality video camera well suited to a broad range of applications -- from event videography to training videos to filmmaking. It's small size and long battery life make it ideal for use in the field, and its broad array of manual override features make it a very adaptable camera for all sorts of shooting environments.
Two XLR audio inputs allow you to connect pro mics or external audio. 3CCD camera system
Originally, camcorders used one CCD--the imaging device that turns light into electronic information--and let the image processing unit decider the color information from the data. Like today's broadcast video cameras, however, the DSR-PD170 uses a prism to divide incoming light into three beams and uses specially tuned 1/3-inch CCDs to create red, blue, and green composite images, which are assembled into a final image. The result is a more film-like vibrancy and more accurate color representation. Advanced HAD technology reduces fixed pattern noise and the vertical smear sometimes associated with CCD images.
Audio
The DSR-PD170 records two channels of PCM digital sound with the 48 kHz/16-bit or 32 kHz/12-bit mode. It features a ECM-NV1 electret condenser microphone, as well as two XLR audio input connectors for use with professional-grade microphones or external audio sources.A zoom lever and a rec start/stop button are built into the handle. 12x optical zoom lens
The DSR-PD170 is equipped with a 12x zoom lens. Zoom comes in handy when you can't get close enough to your subject for proper framing, such as a sporting event or nature photography. The camera also has digital zoom feature selectable for 24x or 48x. Users should note, however, that digital zoom comes at the expense of picture quality, since it is achieved by discarding part of the information from the frame.
In order to facilitate zoom control and recording operation during low-angle shooting, an additional zoom lever and a rec start/stop button have been added to the carrying handle. Furthermore, the supplied wireless Remote Commander unit can be used for external control.
To protect your investment, the DSR-PD170 comes with a lens hood with a built-in lens cap, which will keep your glass from getting dirty or scratched. The hood can be opened or closed by using a lever on the side of the hood, so it will never get lost. Also, it comes with a wide conversion lens, which is ideal for shooting indoors or in small spaces. The kit includes a wide
converter lens and hood. Optical Super SteadyShot system
Sony's optical Super SteadyShot System helps remove the slight hand jitter and vibration that is often the bane of video production. Sensors inside the camera detect horizontal and vertical movements and the camera can counteract those movements by adjusting the lens mechanism on the fly. This is superior to digital anti-shake systems that counteract image shake by trimming off edges of the frame.
Large precision black & white viewfinder and LCD monitor
View your subject through the built-in viewfinder, the swing-out LCD display, or both. The camera features a 0.44-inch type black & white LCD viewfinder and a 2.5-inch color LCD monitor. You'll save battery time by using just one, but you may want to use one for adjusting focus and the other for monitoring audio levels.
Index marking and title function
When using a Cassette Memory-equipped DVCAM/DV tape, an index can be marked while recording with the DSR-PD170 or recording from an external video source, which makes for quick access later on. Also, you can store titles in the cassette memory for overlay during playback.
More DSR-PD170 features ? 6:9 Widescreen Acquisition mode -- Captures video at true widescreen aspect ratio without letterboxing ? digital pictures -- save still images to Memory Stick media and combine with video images through the Media Mix function ?ow Light Shooting -- record in just 11x minimum illumination ? arge-sized Handle -- enhanced design for a better grip?ate Stamping -- Superimpose the date onto an image ? V to DV Out -- convert analog input signals to DV signals? electable DVCAM/DV recording -- record and playback in native DVCAM or in DV SP mode ?us tom presets -- choose common color level, sharpness, white balance shift, and agc limit? digital effects -- still, flash motion, luminance key, trail, and old movie ? uide frame -- provides vertical and horizontal subject lines.

"Yamaha Fazer" The Biker's Choice now in Pokhara

Yamaha
"Here comes a bike with combination of two stylish looking bike i.e-Yamaha Fz and Yamaha R1.Those who want to have fun with riding both bike can test drive this awesome bike."

Design & Styling Of Yamaha Fazer
The front of Fazer comes with a color co-ordinated aerodynamic cowl to keep the wind blast at bay while the riding position has been tweaked for long hour, long distance travel and comes with special anti-skid seat skin. My favourite in design terms are the all new t win headlamps which do the lightening duties upfront to keep the vision clear and also bring it in line with global Yamaha Fazer DNA.
Each and every part of Fazer has been designed with a lot of detailed attention and careful thought. This ultimate degree of perfection means even the slightest feature has not been overlooked. Only Yamaha ensures this kind of craftsmanship.
Everything about this bike is big, the wide tyres, the huge tank, the beefy forks. Viewed side on it looks like a well built athelete on the start line flexing its muscles, waiting to smash all the records. Fazer is an urban-cool motorcycle built for great performance and easy-living functionality, because that’s the whole idea of a bike like this.
The meters on the Fazer are same like other FZ Series bikes on sale in India - A Full Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). The speedometer, tachometer, trip meter, fuel gauge and other indicators are set in optimum position to keep the field of vision clear. Also, the engine starting signal is an example of the spirit of innovation.
The Fazer, gets its DNA from the global Fazer series known for their sports touring, awesome looks. It has a “Look-at-me” appeal with the triple macho design concept giving it a concentrated form with excellent ergonomics.
With its comfortable riding position and seat the rider can enjoy a week end getaway or head off on a touring holiday. Just like FZ16 and FZ-S, Fazer carries the Monocross suspension to ensure agile running performance and handling. Other than the front fairing and wider tyre New Fazer looks exactly the same like the FZ16 & FZ-S.
Engine Of Yamaha Fazer
Fazer is powered by the same 153cc engine which powers the FZ16 & FZ-S, though i expected a new engine as the weight of Fazer is more than its siblings due to the front fairing. Power output is more or less the same. The air cooled, 4 stroke, SOHC engine which generates maximum power of 14 Bhp at 7500 rpm with maximum torque of 14 Nm at 6000 rpm. The 153cc engine of this bike is designed for the urban commute. The broad tyres, low center of gravity and high torque at low rpm makes it a breeze to drive in city traffic.
The placement of this model’s ‘MidShip Muffler’ toward the center of the machine gives it a good concentration of mass, exhaust efficiency and handling. Fazer has the “140/60-17” size rear radial tyre with a 60% aspect ratio contributes to better grip and handling stability.
But auto enthusiasts like me wanted something more - bigger engine!! At least they must have plonked a 180cc or 200cc engine to compete with the likes of Pulsar 180 and recently launched Apache RTR 180.
Price & Shades Of Yamaha Fazer
Yamaha Fazer has been priced at Rs. 72000.00 (Ex-Showroom New Delhi). At this price point, it is a bit on the higher side for a 150cc bike but overall design is very smart, quality levels are up to the mark, comes with full digital console and it is a YAMAHA!!
Though one can buy the recently launched New Pulsar 220 for 70000 bucks but in comparison to Fazer, the Pulsar now looks dated with last generation styling. New Fazer is on any day a better deal than the Pulsar, Apache 180, GS150R & Karizma.
Yamaha Fazer has been launched in four shades:
- Electric Blue
- Midnight Black
- Lava Red
- Flaming Orange
In Nepal its Price is NRs. 1,99,900/- (on-road)
